Mural on MLK Call to Artists

The City of Pompano Beach will commission an artist/artist team for the design and installation of a mural that will be located on Saxon & Wall Supermarket located at 321 NW 3rd Ave, also known as Esther Rolle Ave. This mural must reflect the history of Northwest Pompano creating a timeline representing the past to the present and will generate awareness of the arts and create a positive economic impact for the community where the mural is located. Schools of Art: Painted Pompano Round 2

Due to the original project’s success, the City has decided to have a second round of Painted Pompano fish. The pompano fish is the City’s namesake and a symbol of the identity of Pompano residents. The project will again consist of 12 five foot tall fish sculptures which will be placed at various locations throughout the City. Each of the Painted Pompano sculptures will be individualized by artists in a variety of styles and finishes focusing on themes of periods of art history. Each artist selected will receive $1,500.00.
